Rites of Passage
Rites of Passage was a series were I explored experiences that were impressionable on my memory. These two works specifically explored ways of recollecting on past experiences, exploring them through writing, and then recompiling them into a visual language. I would look back on aspects, emotions, or ideas that I felt were poignant to the experience and then work on refining and defining those ideas and notions to then begin to recreate the experience through print.
Rites of Passage began to look at ideas of the memorializing of experience and how, through its recreation it begins to supplant the original.
Sticky Notes were the foundational components in exploring marks and visual language.
